Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and Nova Shipping of Singapore have signed contracts for another pair of woodchip carriers. The pair of 69.300 DWT vessels is going to be built at Jiangsu’s Yangzijiang Yard.
This order brings to the total of six vessels ordered by Nova Shipping.
The ships are scheduled for delivery in late 2013 and early 2014.

Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd has more than 4,000 employed workers including 800 engineering technicians. It covers an area of 1,060,000 square m and possesses 1,400 m of deep-water shorelines which is suitable for the for the building and mooring of the ships below 100,000 DWT. The new shipyard is also properly equipped with all shipbuilding facilities, such as: two sets of dry dock with 100,000 DWT, one set outfitting berth of 960 m, four sets of gantry crane with lifting capacity from 300 t to 600 t, workshop of 0.2 million square meters etc. Annual shipbuilding capacity of the new shipyard reaches 1.2 million tons for 12 to 16 vessels deadweight below 100,000 tons which also ranked in the top 10 enterprise among national shipbuilding industry. Products in the new yard mainly include Container Vessels with loading capacities up to 6000 TEU and Bulk Carriers with deadweight up to 100,000 DWT.
