The 3,030-passenger Celebrity Reflection, fifth and final Solstice-class ship built by the Meyer Werft shipyard for the Celebrity Cruises has left the shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, to start its way to the North Sea.
The 126,000-gt cruise ship Celebrity Reflection is 319 m long and 37.40 m wide. In 1,515 cabins more than 3,030 passengers can be accommodated. She can reach a speed of 23 knots. She is the only ship among her four sisters that has 16 decks rather than 15, which increases the number of cabins by another 72, and provides more space in the theatre and in the restaurants.
With the help from tugboats and moving at less than 4 mph, it took 10 hours for the ship to cross the Ems River. The sea trials together with the finishing touches will be conducted in the Netherlands after which the ship will cross the Atlantic Ocean to arrive in Miami on December 1st and depart for its inaugural Caribbean sailing on Dec. 5.
