The new Project 20380 corvette Boiky constructed by JSC Severnaya Verf shipyard for Baltic Fleet (BF) is undergoing sea trials in the fleet’s test ranges.The trials include checking serviceability of onboard systems at sea, speed, maneuvering, and vibration tests, Western Military District Press Service informs.
Special attention is put on testing steering system, navigation facilities, followed by auxiliary mechanisms, powerplant, communication and anchor gear. Trials are expected to be completed by the end of the year, when preparations for the state acceptance will commence.
This type of corvette is intended for littoral zone operations, gun support of landing operations, engagement of enemy submarines and surface ships.
Second serial Project 22380 corvette Boiky was presented in mid-March to Baltic Fleet commission and qualified for taking the crew on board. In accordance with approved construction schedule, the ensign-hoisting ceremony will be held in the coming November.
Severnaya Verf builds all ships in accordance with construction schedules agreed with defense ministry.
